- Jeff,
-
- You raise very valid questions.
-
- > - support for future Mac hardware and MacOS features
-
- We are committed to making the frameworks not only support the features but
- drive them.
-

-
- I think you will be pleased with ODF R1. We have been diligent in our
- efforts to produce a framework that supports, among others, the following
- goals:
-
- performance
- footprint
- ease of use
-
- ODF R1 makes significant headway on all three.
-
- We have moved the lower layers of ODF into a shared library. You won't need
- to statically link and incur the overhead.
-
- 'Quick Start' that will ease installation and first part development.
-
- Visual tools and technology help mates are in the works.
-
- > - minmum hardware configuration
-
- We will continue to be mindful of the legacy hardware and be very clear about
- what is supportable as technology moves forward.
-
- > - Is ODF destined to be the Bedrock of the 90's?
-
- No, ODF is here now.
-
- > - Apple (and communtity) support for ODF now and in the future
-
- Apple developers are increasingly using ODF as are 3rd party developers. By
- the way, MacApp is also seeing a resurgence of use. We are committed to
- supporting it as well.
